How many questions are in the NSEJS 2020-21 paper?

Paper Code 51 contains 32 questions: 24 single-correct questions in Section A-1 and 8 multiple-correct questions in Section A-2.

What are the marks and duration?

The paper lists 120 maximum marks and a duration of 60 minutes.

Are detailed solutions included?

Yes. The solution booklet includes the final key and worked reasoning, with Questions 11 and 12 recorded as dropped and not scored; Question 9 accepts A or B, and Question 26 accepts either of two response sets.

What is the difference between Section A-1 and Section A-2?

Section A-1 contains Questions 1-24 with one correct option. Section A-2 contains Questions 25-32 with one or more correct options; every option should be checked independently.

Is there negative marking in the NSEJS 2020-21 paper?

Section A-1 awards +3 for a correct answer and applies a -1 penalty for a wrong answer. Section A-2 awards 6 marks only when all correct options and no incorrect option are marked; there is no negative marking in Section A-2.

Were any questions dropped from the NSEJS 2020-21 final key?

Yes. Questions 11 and 12 are marked dropped in the final key. Keep them for chapter practice but exclude them from the score.

How should I use the NSEJS 2020-21 paper as a timed mock?

Attempt all 32 questions in one 60-minute sitting without notes. Then check the answer key, read the solutions, classify each mistake and revise the weakest chapters before reattempting.

Can Class 7, 8 and 9 students use this paper analysis?

Yes. Class 7 students can build vocabulary and diagram skills, Class 8 students can connect concepts and practise short calculations, and Class 9 students can use the full paper for timed Olympiad preparation.
