From NSEJS to INJSO

Selection is rule-based, not a predicted cutoff.

The final shortlist published by the examination authority is authoritative. Estimated cutoffs on third-party sites cannot confirm selection.

MAS

Minimum Admissible Score

50% of the average of the top ten NSEJS scores, rounded down. This is an eligibility threshold for the selection process, not a guaranteed selection score.

MI

Merit Index

80% of the average of the top ten NSEJS scores, rounded down. Students at or above MI qualify automatically, subject to eligibility.

300

Target for INJSO

The 2026 Student Brochure lists a target of 300 students. State/UT representation, ties and other published clauses affect the final list.

Why this page omits one number: the examination authority’s 2026 Student Brochure and Booklet use different minimum-representation figures. Until the examination authority clarifies, families should rely on the published shortlist rather than either summary figure.

After the NSEJS paper

A calm, practical parent checklist.

Preserve documents, wait for published notices and describe results accurately.

01Keep the complete record

Save the enrolment acknowledgement, centre details, admit card and roll number until all results and certificates are downloaded.

02Use the published result

Do not treat a coaching-site score prediction or an estimated cutoff as a confirmed result.

03Follow the selection notice

If shortlisted, follow the registration instructions and deadline shown in the selection notice.

04Record recognition precisely

Distinguish centre-level, state-level, national-level and stage-selection achievements.
